Who else are you excited to see?
Cabbage, The Moods, Marvin Cheeseman, The Blinders and the brilliant Broken Vinyl (Kirky).

What’s your best festival memory?
Suggs from Madness reading one of my poems from my book on the main stage at Kendal Calling in front of over 20,000 people and performing with Johnny Vegas and Ricky Tomlinson, then proposing to my girlfriend during my show at Festival No6.

What are your festival essentials?
Sunshine, beer and Preparation H.

How does playing a festival differ from playing your own gig?

No difference really – an audience is an audience.

What’s your favourite part of playing a festival?

Seeing and finding new bands and artists.

Rec Rock is working closely with the Big Issue North to highlight the problem of homelessness. Why did you choose to get involved?

I just liked the set-up, the honesty and personal touch of the organisers.
