The Trust Christmas Campaign

We’re pleased to announce the launch of our 2012 Christmas Campaign to raise money for The Big Issue in the North Trust, the  sister charity (no.1056041) to The Big Issue in the North and we’re asking you to send some support this Christmas – both in the form of a donation to The Trust and a message to vendors out selling the magazine.

As you probably know, people come to us in order to be able to sell the magazine and earn a legitimate income. The people we have coming through our doors can be some of the most hard to reach and vulnerable people in our society and The Big Issue in the North Trust pays for additional services and support to help these vendors selling the magazine – this might be helping them access drug or alcohol services, find emergency accommodation or somewhere more permanent to live, access training, look for work, or gain skills.

The Trust receives most of its income through donations from the public and the more money we raise, the more people we are able to support to move on in their lives.

You can make a donation to The Big Issue in the North Trust on-line at www.justgiving.com/bigissuenorth or via text by simply texting BITN12 and the amount you want to donate to 70070 (so for example, text BITN12£10 to donate £10).  You can also send a cheque to The Big Issue in the North Trust, 10 Swan Street, Manchester M4 5JN, please include your name and address.

This year, we’ve created a special Christmas Card which will be attached to The Big Issue in the North magazines on December 3rd and 17th December. This card will give you the opportunity to send a message of support to vendors out selling the magazine over the festive season. When it’s cold and dark outside and many of us are thinking about our friends and families, many vendors find this a particularly difficult time of year. We display the messages of support we receive in our offices to show vendors that people are thinking of them over the festive season. You can also leave a comment on this page and we’ll pass this on to vendors.
