Do you know any young artists that could design a cover for Big Issue North’s Christmas issue? Well now’s their chance.
For our Christmas cover competition, we’re asking for children (aged 11 or under) to design a cover for a festive edition of the magazine. The artist behind the winning design will receive a bundle of children’s books from Quarto and Penguin and all the entries will be featured on our website.
Deadline for entries is Friday 24 November 2017.
Here’s some handy hints for creating the perfect cover:
- Use this template as a guide (downloadable PDF).
- One big strong central image is usually better than lots of little images.
- The drawing should have a background which covers the whole of the page.
- You can use any material you like to create the image but bright, bold, festive colours will work well.
To give you some inspiration, here’s last year’s winning entry by Jovita Wong:
Anyone up to the age of 11 can participate in the competition.
Send the artwork(s) to Big Issue North, Christmas cover competition, 116 Tib Street, Manchester, M4 1LR (please do not fold your artwork) by Friday,24 November 2017. Unfortunately, we are unable to return artwork.
