The Accountant

Mathematical genius Christian Wolff is a seemingly dull forensic accountant, but behind the scenes he cooks the books for criminal organisations. Diagnosed with autism as a child, Wolff (Ben Affleck) struggles with emotional attachments, which is why he works mainly freelance, but when the Treasury Department starts closing in, he takes on a new “legitimate” client. As he works on the financial discrepancies discovered by internal accountant Dana Cummings (Anna Kendrick), Wolff’s investigation leads him down a dangerous and deadly path. Spicing up the blue collar profession with a hitman action hero sideline, The Accountant is a hit-and-miss action thriller, giving in to clichés and plot holes but packing enough punches and satisfying twists to be entertaining.
